The Sky is Yours by Chandler Klang Smith Chapter Review

The Skinny

(aka Back of the Book Summary in a Sentence)

Dragons are interconnected to Empire Island’s politics.

Nutritional Value

(aka What’s Good)

There are dragons in the future and they attack people! If you erect a building, the dragons will tear it down with their fire breath.

Freezer Burn

(aka What’s Bad)

I did not like the writing style. It was unmatured. You have a story about dragons. I can think of a few ways you can make this more interesting – even if you’re not trying to reveal anything.

The main character, Ripple, is very annoying. I think the author did this on purpose to create a dynamic character, but I can’t see how anyone can redeem this. Besides the guy straight up dying and being replaced.

Lingering Aftertaste

(aka My Prediction)

This kid somehow destroys the dragons.

Taste Test Verdict

(aka Would I Read More?)

Nope. I disliked every character. We just talked about what Ripple wanted. We just talked about Ripple’s feelings. I don’t want to hear about Ripple’s feelings, I want to hear about dragons terrorizing this land.

Memorable Morsel

(aka Quotable Quote)

No words for this, just look at it…

What kind of butt nugget doesn’t trust his own son?
